The legendary power forward, a two-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat, has revealed he continues to battle serious health issues that forced his premature retirement from the game.
Bosh was compelled to step away from professional basketball in 2016, at just 32 years old, following a diagnosis of blood clot problems. The former Toronto Raptors and Miami star made several attempts to return to the court, but his health condition ultimately prevented it.
Unfortunately, his health challenges persisted even after his playing days. In an interview with "HoopsHype," Bosh disclosed that he was hospitalized again earlier this year due to a pulmonary embolism, a life-threatening situation.
In January, I had another episode. I was practically on the brink of death, but I managed to pull through. I'm not joking. I experienced another pulmonary embolism and spent a week in the hospital.Chris Bosh
The 11-time All-Star emphasized that he now takes medication daily and must meticulously manage his health.
They told me to take medication every day, and I adhere to that. I take care of myself and get regular check-ups. I didn't have any symptoms, but I simply have to live with it. I thought it was all behind me, but it wasn't. That's why I have to remain disciplined.Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh spent the first seven seasons of his NBA career with Toronto before moving to Miami in 2010. There, alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, he secured two championship rings and became a pivotal player in one of the most dominant eras in league history.
