Choupo-Moting agrees new deal with Bayern Munich
Cameroonian striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has signed a one-year contract extension with reigning Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich.
Choupo-Moting seals new Bayern contract
Choupo-Moting has been with Bayern Munich since joining from PSG in 2020, and the new deal will see the former Stoke City and PSG frontman stay with the Bavarians until at least the summer of 2024.
Choupo-Moting’s importance to the team has grown since the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona last summer, and the striker has played 24 matches in all competitions this season, despite struggling with injuries at the start of the season.
Choupo-Moting scored 15 goals for Bayern and assisted four more in these 24 games, proving that he is well worth the extension he was given.
Choupo-Moting happy to stay in Munich
The club announced Choupo-Moting’s extension with a series of posts on Twitter, including a video where the Cameroon international spoke on his new deal, saying that he feels comfortable in Bayern Munich and his family is already settled in the city. Hence, it made sense to extend his contract with the club.

Choupo-Moting has been a ‘journeyman’ for much of his career and has represented Hamburg, Nurnberg, Mainz, Schalke, Stoke City, PSG and now Bayern.
If Choupo-Moting fulfils his contract at Bayern Munich, it will be his longest consecutive spell at a single club in his senior career, beating the three consecutive years he spent with Schalke between 2014 and 2017.
