BEIJING, May 13 (Reuters) - China's foreign direct investment in April grew 10.5 percent from a year earlier to $9.6 billion, a Reuters calculation of official data released by the trade ministry showed on Wednesday.

Over the first four months of the year, foreign direct investment climbed 11.1 percent from a year earlier to $44.5 billion, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on its website. (Reporting by Koh Gui Qing and Kevin Yao; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
