Metu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ilorin that he was working hard in training to start scoring goals for his new team.

NAN recalls that Metu’s 17th minute strike was enough for the Saraki Boys to beat FC Ifeanyi Ubah 1-0 in a Match Day 3 encounter at Kwara Stadium on Sunday.

The former Gateway United FC of Abeokuta winger, who joined the Ilorin-based side in the summer transfer, has been impressive since the start of the 2016/2017 NPFL.

He was voted Man of the Match in Match Day 1 encounter against Akwa United in Ilorin.

“I am very happy I scored my first goal; I’m most delighted it came against a good side like Ifeanyi Ubah.

“I want to justify the confidence reposed in me by the management of this team.

“The boss, Henry Makinwa, has really helped my game since I joined the team.

“I want to keep doing well for the team to help them achieve something good at the end of the season. I want to go places with this team,’’ Metu told NAN.

He noted that his first few minutes into his NPFL debut against Akwa United were a bit scary for him.

But the winger said he was now building up the confidence needed to be a premier league player.

He added that the goal against Ifeanyi Ubah would help his confidence to play at the highest level of football in Nigeria.
