Powell joins Chicago following a strong season with the Miami Heat, where he emerged as a primary offensive option and earned his first NBA All-Star selection.

The 33-year-old arrives in Chicago as a seasoned veteran who can immediately provide the Bulls with another reliable offensive threat, especially alongside rising star Matas Buzelis.

During the 2025-26 regular season, Powell averaged 21.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for Miami, shooting 47.0% from the field.

Powell entered the NBA in 2015 after four seasons at UCLA. He was selected 46th overall in the second round of the draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, before immediately beginning his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors.

The veteran guard spent his first five and a half NBA seasons in Toronto, where he was a key member of the Raptors' 2019 championship-winning squad.

He subsequently played for the Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Miami Heat before finalizing his current agreement with Chicago.

Powell's career has been defined by his efficiency as a scorer, his three-point shooting prowess, and his versatility to play both as a starter and a primary offensive option off the bench.
