The reputable publication named the girls as nominees for its “Person of the Year” award but goofed in its description after it identified them using the name of their captors. The error has since been fixed.

The over 200 girls were abducted on April 14, 2014 by the terrorist sect. The kidnapping sparked outrage all over the world and inspired the hashtag #BringbackOurGirls.

Other nominees include Ferguson protesters, who took to the streets to register their anger against the killing of unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson, Ebola nurses and doctors, Pope Francis and US President Barack Obama among others.
