Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara insists he has moved past his failed €54 million transfer to Chelsea and is now fully focused on the Ligue 1 season with his current club.

The deal was on the verge of completion, with the 22-year-old midfielder even undergoing medical tests, but it ultimately collapsed just before the transfer window slammed shut.

“Football moves fast. Perhaps other opportunities will arise. But for now, I’m focused on the season with Monaco,” Camara stated. “I can help the team a lot.”

Monaco had initially rejected two bids for the Senegalese international but lowered their asking price for Camara when Folarin Balogun's transfer to Everton appeared to be in jeopardy, aiming to secure a financial windfall. However, when Balogun's departure seemed back on track, the principality club reportedly reconsidered Camara's sale, ultimately resulting in both players remaining with the Ligue 1 side.

“There was a possibility I would leave. It didn’t materialize at the last minute, and that’s part of football. I’ve turned the page and I’m focused on the season,” Lamine Camara affirmed, ahead of their clash with Strasbourg.
