Chelsea has set an asking price of over £50 million for striker Liam Delap, for any club looking to acquire him permanently.
According to journalist Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail, citing club sources, the Blues have placed a high valuation on the 23-year-old forward. This comes just a year after he was signed from Ipswich for £30 million.
Last season, Delap featured in 28 Premier League matches, scoring just one goal. He averaged 39 minutes per appearance in those games.
The decision regarding Delap's potential sale is part of a broader strategy by new manager Xabi Alonso. The Spanish tactician aims to significantly trim Chelsea's squad, which currently numbers 41 players, with 16 expected to depart by the end of the transfer window. Besides Delap, other players rumored to be leaving include Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, and Axel Disasi.
