Chelsea has announced losses totaling £262.4 million for the financial year ending June 30, 2025, shattering all previous negative records in the Premier League, even surpassing Manchester City's 2010-11 figures.
Concurrently, the Blues topped the charts for agent fees, shelling out £65.1 million during the 2025-2026 season, according to data from The Football Association. Aston Villa followed with £38.4 million, while Premier League clubs collectively spent £460.3 million, marking a 13% increase.
These substantial losses are primarily attributed to a significant rise in operating expenses compared to the previous season. It's worth noting that just a year prior, Chelsea had reported profits of £128.4 million, largely bolstered by the sale of their women's team to a subsidiary within the group.
A UEFA report placed the losses even higher, at €407 million, with the discrepancy stemming from differing accounting practices. Despite the negative financial outcome, Chelsea's revenue reached £490.9 million – the second-highest in the club's history – and the club remained compliant with sustainability regulations (PSR).
Since Todd Boehly's acquisition of the club in 2022, approximately £1.5 billion has been spent on transfers, with the management highlighting record sales recorded last summer.
Furthermore, financial sanctions from the FA are anticipated concerning cases related to agent payments during the Roman Abramovich era.
