According to a report, Ched Evans is on the verge of rejoining Sheffield United in a £500,000 transfer deal.

Evans was a Sheffield United player before he was released in 2012 after he was sentenced to five years in jail for raping a 19-year-old woman.

Evans who has always insisted that he is innocent of the rape charge had his convictioncancelled in a retrial in October 2016, which means he never committed the crime.
