Perez joined the American outfit ahead of their debut in the world championship at the start of 2026. For the Mexican, it represented a return to the grid following his exit from Red Bull at the end of the 2024 campaign. He has also played a pivotal role in spearheading Cadillac's development as they build a brand-new racing outfit from the ground up.

"I joined the Cadillac Formula 1 team right from the start because I truly believed in this project. Extending our partnership is a completely natural next step," Perez said. "Building an F1 team from scratch takes time, tireless effort, and patience, but the progress we are making together brings immense satisfaction. There is still plenty of work ahead, and I am fully committed to this project for the next three years. "I want to thank Dan Towriss, Mark Reuss, and everyone at TWG Motorsports and General Motors for the opportunity to keep building on what we have achieved so far. My thanks also go to every member of this special team—both at the track and at our bases in the US and the UK—as well as our fans for their unwavering support and trust. I will not let you down. Let's keep pushing and giving it our all," the Mexican added.

Although his teammate Valtteri Bottas is also on a multi-year deal, the Finn's future with the team beyond the current season remains uncertain. Speculation has intensified in recent weeks that he could be replaced by Colton Herta, which would fulfill Cadillac's long-standing ambition of having an American driver in their lineup.
