Following a season-opening defeat to the Detroit Pistons (121-113), the Boston Celtics bounced back in style in front of their home crowd at TD Garden, edging the New York Knicks 107-103.

Neemias Queta once again started on the bench by decision of head coach Joe Mazzulla—with Mitchell Robinson getting the nod—but played a pivotal role in the outcome. In 22 minutes on the court, the Portuguese center posted 15 points, including a three-pointer (matching Paul George), alongside six rebounds, one assist, and three blocks.

The star of the night was Jayson Tatum, who racked up 36 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. The forward came alive in the second half, scoring 25 of his 36 points and converting seven of Boston's final eight points to seal the win.

For the New York Knicks, the defeat on rival turf confirmed a sluggish start to the campaign, marking their second straight loss following an opening home setback against the Philadelphia 76ers (100-106). Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds (plus three assists), supported by Anunoby (20 points), McBride (20 off the bench), and Brunson (19 points), though their efforts fell short.
