Who Was Edin Avdić?
Edin Avdić was born in Sarajevo in 1979. From an early age, he was involved in basketball in Bosnia. The year he was born, they became European champions. In his youth categories, he played as a guard, and after moving to the senior team, he became an excellent point guard. After some time, he decided to stop playing basketball and dedicated himself to his studies, graduating from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo.
His first job was at Federalna Televizija, and after that, he worked at OBN. There, he distinguished himself with energetic broadcasts of the NBA league and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Among the most famous moments in his career was his commentary during the Bosnia vs. Lithuania game where Mirza Teletović hit a three-pointer from a great distance. He famously shouted that Mirza hit a three "from the parking lot."
At "Arena Sport" television, he formed an unforgettable commentary duo with Nenad Kostić. The two were synonymous with NBA and regional basketball, and their broadcasts are the stuff of legend. No one will forget Dušan Kecman's basket in Zagreb during the Cibona – Partizan match and their elation afterward.
