Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on a thigh muscle, the Premier League club announced.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this season, sustained the injury during Forest's Europa League quarter-final second-leg victory over Porto last Thursday.

"Nottingham Forest can confirm that Callum Hudson-Odoi has sustained an injury to his right quadriceps muscle," the club stated.

"Following further specialist consultation, the winger underwent surgery today and will immediately begin rehabilitation with our medical team. Callum is expected to return to full training during pre-season, and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery," the statement added.

Forest currently sit 16th in the Premier League with 36 points and five matches remaining in the season. The team holds a five-point advantage over 18th-placed Tottenham, who are in the relegation zone.

Nottingham travels to 11th-placed Sunderland on Friday before hosting Aston Villa in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on April 30.
