Butler Speaks Out After Zvezda Contract Extension: "How Can I Leave You?"

My Red Star family, how could I ever leave you? After all the beautiful moments we've shared and with so much more ahead! You mean so much to me, and I can't wait to put on the red and white jersey again this season! Jared Butler

American guard Jared Butler joined Crvena Zvezda on October 23, 2025, after stints with the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers. During his inaugural season with Crvena Zvezda, Jared Butler established himself as one of the EuroLeague's premier offensive talents, averaging 14 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds, becoming a cornerstone for the red and whites. On Tuesday, Jared Butler extended his current contract with KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet for an additional season, meaning he will remain with our club through the 2027-2028 season! Butler will thus be an exceptionally important part of the red and white squad in the upcoming season, under the guidance of new head coach Ibon Navarro. The sports department of KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet invested significant effort to retain a player who has, and will continue to have, a crucial role in our team. Throughout this transfer window, Jared Butler received numerous lucrative offers from NBA and EuroLeague clubs, a testament to his performances since joining Crvena Zvezda. However, he chose to continue wearing our red and white jersey! The club extends its gratitude to Jared Butler for demonstrating immense desire to continue playing for Crvena Zvezda and to be an integral part of our team next season. The club will, as always, announce all further transfer activities exclusively through KK Crvena Zvezda's official channels. KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet
