Lai Mohammed explains why President must attend foreign events

According to Mohammed, Buhari’s persona inspires confidence in world leaders, something a representative might not be able to achieve.

The minister made the disclosure on May 9, 2016, during a live radio and television programme hosted in Kaduna by Liberty Radio and Television, Daily Trust reports.

“Many world leaders are saying now that Nigeria has a leader with integrity, they have the confidence to discuss with us even on the issue of the looted funds, so sending a representative cannot achieve that much,” he said.

Buhari has been criticized for his frequent trips abroad with many urging him to remain in Nigeria and solve the country’s problems.
