The UFC has officially confirmed that Mitchell (18-3) will now fight Santiago Luna (8-0) on the main card of this weekend's event in Las Vegas. Luna steps in on just nine days' notice, replacing Victor Henry, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons.

Mitchell secured a unanimous decision victory over Said Nurmagomedov in his last bout at UFC Abu Dhabi in July 2025. This win marked a successful debut for Mitchell in the 61 kg category, having previously competed at featherweight and alternating wins and losses in his last seven fights.

Undefeated in eight professional fights, the 21-year-old Luna has impressively dispatched his first two UFC opponents. He knocked out Kuang Li in the first round of his Octagon debut, then followed up with a dominant decision win over Angel Pacheco in February. Luna has finished all but one of his victories via knockout/TKO or submission.

The main event of UFC Vegas 118 features a welterweight clash between former UFC champion Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim.
