According to a cousin of the little victim, Rita Ifeoma Anyim, who posted a picture of the incident on her Facebook page, the woman, Chinelo Ifediora and her husband, who brought the girl from her parents to live with them, accused the girl of being a witch and the cause of the downturn in their progress since she came to stay with them.

This is what Anyim posted:

"The lil girl in the pix (my cousin) was brutally abused and sent back all the way from Abuja to Awka by herself by her supposed guardian, Mrs Chinelo Ifediora.

Am still trying to understand this inhumane treatment that was meted out to my lil cousin (Miss Precious Nwole) by her supposed guardian (Mrs Chinelo Ifediora) who allegedly claimed the lil girl (she's just 6-yrs-old) was confirmed to be a witch."

This woman, Chinelo Ifediora and her husband must be punished
