Bruno Guimarães has reportedly informed Newcastle of his desire to leave the club and join Arsenal. According to French outlet L'Equipe, the Brazilian midfielder has already agreed to a five-year contract with the London giants. He is now hoping the two clubs can finalize a transfer fee.

The Magpies previously rejected a €70 million offer from Arsenal and are reluctant to sell their captain, especially after parting ways with Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali. However, Newcastle is keen to avoid any transfer sagas, similar to what happened last summer with Alexander Isak. They value the player at €90 million, and a new bid from the Gunners is anticipated in the coming days.

Guimarães enjoyed a stellar season in the Premier League last year and was a key figure for the Brazilian national team. At the World Cup, he provided two assists in the match against Scotland and set up Gabriel Martinelli for the winning goal against Japan. However, the Seleção ultimately disappointed, exiting the tournament in the round of 16 after a loss to Norway.
