Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes returned to Manchester United's starting line-up for Saturday's Premier League match at Chelsea. The recall comes six days after manager Michael Carrick benched him during the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth following Fernandes' criticism of team tactics.

Fernandes was named in the starting line-up for Saturday's clash and retained the captain's armband. Manager Carrick had already confirmed the decision on Thursday, emphasizing that the 32-year-old midfielder remains fully committed to the club.

"He cares deeply about this football club and this team, and is desperate to do well," Carrick said of Fernandes, according to the AP news agency.
