The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has officially classified the death of the 29-year-old basketball player as an accidental overdose.

The department also cited the "combined effects of multiple prescription medications" as another "significant factor" in the fatal outcome. However, the specific drugs involved were not disclosed.

Clark was found unresponsive on May 11, 2026, at his home in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced him dead at 5:15 PM local time. Drug paraphernalia and evidence of illicit substance use were found at the location.

Clark was a first-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. This past season, the forward played in only two games, missing the majority of the championship due to injuries.
