Muhammad Ali taken to hospital suffering from pneumonia

The 72-year-old American was admitted to hospital on Saturday, but his spokesman, Bob Gunnell, revealed that his condition is not serious.

"Because the pneumonia was caught early, his prognosis is good with a short hospital stay expected." Gunnell said.

Gunnell requested privacy for the family of Ali, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, as he recovers from the illness.

Ali is a three-time world heavyweight champion and also won an Olympic gold medal in the 1960 Games in Rome.
