Bournemouth Agrees Deal for Benfica Captain

Bournemouth's management has reached a full agreement with their counterparts at Benfica for defender António Silva, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The English club has already agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old Portuguese international, with only medical examinations remaining before the deal is officially announced. However, the "Eagles" prefer to delay the transfer slightly to utilize the defender for at least some of their Europa League qualifying rounds. Silva's contract with Benfica runs until the summer of 2027. During the 2025/2026 season, the defender played 41 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
