Negotiations between the Nigerian government and Boko Haram to secure the release of the abducted Chibok girls are being finalized, according to reports.
The “Secretary General of Boko Haram”, Mallam Danladi Ahmadu reportedly stated that the abducted schoolgirls would be released on Monday after a final meeting slated to hold in Ndjamena, Chad.
Ahmadu is said to have stated this on the Hausa service of the Voice of America VoA on Friday, October 24 while also adding that the girls would be handed over to Chadian President, Idriss Derby who is expected to supervise Monday’s meeting.
The self-acclaimed Secretary General also gave assurances that Boko Haram would fulfill its promises after the agreement is finalized.
The Chibok girls were kidnapped on April 14 and have been in captivity for over 6 months.
