The captives were released on Wednesday, May, 6, 2015, army spokesperson Colonel Sani Usman said according to Al Jazeera.

Usman also added that many terrorists had been killed in a battle with troops while one soldier died and five others were wounded.

The Army had earlier rescued about 700 women and children from the terrorists over the space of four days starting from Tuesday, April 28.
