Blow for Partizan, No Major Reinforcement: American Guard Chooses EuroLeague's Last-Place Team!
According to "Mozzart Sport," ASVEL has finalized an agreement with the American guard, meaning he will not be joining Partizan, despite earlier media reports suggesting a deal was imminent between the two sides.
The black-and-whites made an effort to entice Brooks. Discussions were held, but ultimately, the American basketball player, through his agents, informed them that he had accepted an offer from the French EuroLeague club and would be playing for coach Tony Parker next season.
Brooks is currently still with Olimpia Milano until the end of the Italian championship. Prior to that, he played for Houston, Brooklyn, Toronto, and several other teams. Last season, he averaged 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. His arrival signals a new era in Lyon, with speculation that Sylvain Francisco and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot could also potentially join ASVEL.
