Sharing state secrets is a serious crime in China and the day, which falls on April 15, was launched after a new law that called for greater political, territorial, military, cultural and technological security.

A poster warning women not to be wooed by foreign men looking to nab state secrets appeared on public bulletin boards and Beijing’s financial district.

According to The Guardian, the posters were placed in those spots to target low to mid-level employees and the financial district where many foreigners work, respectively.

The posters were titled “Dangerous Love” and featured a cartoon depiction of a love story gone wrong.

According to a poll of sorts conducted by NYT, many however didn't either notice or understand the posters.
