Big Brother Naija: Mercedes is the second housemate to be evicted from Season 11

On August 9, 2026, Mercedes became the second housemate to leave the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house. She joined Martins, who was also sent packing from the Show Ya Self season.

Ijeoma Emi, AKA Mercedes, is a 28-year-old self-employed performance artist and massage therapist from Delta State. She says viewers can expect authenticity, confidence, vulnerability, and plenty of memorable moments from her throughout the competition.

Big Brother Naija returned for its 11th season in July 2026. 24 new housemates will compete for the coveted title and the ₦160 million grand prize. With this year's theme, Show Ya Self, the contestants will battle through Biggie's tasks, nominations and evictions while entertaining viewers with their personalities, strategies, and drama. The show, which is entering its third week, is heating up with housemates becoming more settled in the house, with relationships, friendships, and clashes all unfolding.

Earlier in the week, Sheba emerged as the Head of House for Week 2 of Big Brother Naija Season 11 after defeating the other housemates in Monday's challenge to secure immunity from eviction this week. She won the Week 2 Head of House challenge after completing the task in 6 minutes and used her powers to save Chisom Chuka from eviction.

Nomy, however, recorded the poorest performance in the Head of House challenge and was handed this week's Bench Warmer title.

As part of the punishment, she is required to wear a special outfit throughout the week and use an assigned bench as her designated seat in the house. The restriction will only be lifted during Saturday night parties and arena games.
