Barcelona's management is reportedly aiming to bolster Hansi Flick's squad with at least two significant signings this summer, with Alessandro Bastoni and Julian Alvarez topping their wishlist. However, the club is also actively seeking a replacement for Marcus Rashford, whose permanent stay at Spotify Camp Nou appears increasingly unlikely. According to "Sport," the Catalan giants have now set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola.
While Barcelona would ideally like Rashford to remain, the club is only open to another loan deal – an option Manchester United has already rejected. Consequently, the chances of him continuing his career in the Catalan capital beyond the summer are diminishing, prompting the club to explore alternatives.
Initially, the focus was on more budget-friendly options such as Ez Abde, Jan Virhili, and Victor Muñoz. However, the emergence of Bradley Barcola could significantly alter these plans. Reports suggest that the Paris Saint-Germain winger could become a primary target for the Blaugrana if he becomes available on the market this summer.
Liverpool is considered one of the frontrunners for Barcola's signature, whose uncertain contract situation casts doubt on his future with the reigning European champions. If Barcelona can free up the necessary salary cap space through the anticipated sales of Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, and Marc-André ter Stegen, the club could enter the race for the PSG player, who has long been admired by sporting director Deco.
While Barcola is highly valued within the Camp Nou offices, the same cannot be said for his agent, Moussa Sissoko. He was previously accused of orchestrating Ousmane Dembélé's departure in 2023. Negotiations with him will undoubtedly be challenging for Deco but will be unavoidable if he intends to secure the deal. Rumors suggest that a fee of around 80 million euros might be sufficient to acquire Barcola. It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will have such funds available after securing a new central defender and striker, as these are Deco's top priorities.
