Barcelona Dominates Early, But Coach Flick Curbs Euphoria: "We Must Win the Champions League"
The Spanish champions have kicked off their La Liga campaign with four consecutive wins and added a dominant 5-1 victory over Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Champions League. They've netted a total of 22 goals while conceding just three. Their next challenge comes on Sunday against Levante.
"We know football can be incredibly unpredictable. I like that we're enjoying this moment, but if we were to change our approach, we'd be heading in the wrong direction, and that's something we want to avoid. We possess immense quality, but our results are primarily due to a specific system. We maintain high intensity, focus, and activity," Flick told reporters, as reported by AFP.
The Catalan club's stars are entering the season with a clear objective: to conquer the Champions League. Barcelona last achieved this feat in 2015, and both Flick and club president Joan Laporta are dreaming of lifting the trophy once more.
"I've spoken with fans and people within Barcelona. This season, we simply have to win the Champions League. It's our dream and our goal. The president also emphasized the importance of the league, stating that winning it three times in a row would be incredible," Flick commented.
