Despite the Catalans, visibly more physically dominant than any opponent in this competition, quickly establishing an eight-point lead, Avramović's charges showcased their character, turning the tide with a flurry of three-pointers. They even took a 42:40 lead into halftime.
However, everything changed from that moment on. The Red and Whites started the second half significantly weaker, unable to maintain the intensity of their first-half performance.
Nevertheless, there's little to fault Crvena Zvezda for; Barcelona shifted their focus heavily to the paint, where their tall players dominated.
The third quarter concluded with a 37:19 score in favor of the Catalans, a clear reflection of the situation on the court. The Red and Whites displayed talent, with four players reaching double-digit scoring, but the long arms and athleticism of the Barça players contributed to Zvezda committing a staggering 25 turnovers in this game, which the Spanish team converted into easy fast-break points.
