The incident took place while the Madrid players were celebrating their second goal. The individual used a flagpole to strike the French midfielder in the face alongside other celebrating players.

Law enforcement authorities have filed charges under Spain's Sports Act. Since no serious physical injuries were sustained, the incident will be classified as a serious offense. Fines for such misconduct range between €3,000 and €60,000, reaching up to €650,000 in the most severe cases. Alongside the financial penalty, the offender faces a potential stadium ban of two to five years.

La Liga officially confirmed that FC Barcelona's security team played a vital role in assisting police to identify the supporter, a member of the Grada 1957 fan group. The case will also be forwarded to the club's Disciplinary Commission for internal disciplinary action. League officials have lodged a formal complaint, reiterating their firm stance against stadium violence.
