Braga has reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign their academy product, Tommy Marquez. The two clubs have settled on a package totaling €10 million upfront, with an additional €2 million in bonuses for the 19-year-old talent. Marquez is expected to finalize his personal terms with the Portuguese side without any issues.
Marquez made his senior debut for Barcelona last season, coming on as a substitute in a La Liga home match against Mallorca in February. He subsequently made one more appearance off the bench in the Spanish championship.
This transfer comes as Barcelona has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Manchester City for the acquisition of Rodri, valued at €76.5 million.
The impending arrival of Rodri and the abundance of midfielders at head coach Hansi Flick's disposal are among the primary reasons Marquez is seeking regular playing time elsewhere, with the club having sanctioned the sale.
