Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola on Friday, November 7, arrested a civil servant who committed a traffic offence.
Fashola spotted Israel Onyemaechi, an employee of the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) driving against traffic on Awolowo Road in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The governor’s convoy then blocked the offending vehicle and he was brought out of the bus.
He was reportedly taken into custody by Fashola’s security personnel and his vehicle was impounded.
Onyemaechi was said to have pleaded severally but was told by the governor that state employees are expected to live by example.
Governor Fashola cemented his reputation as a disciplinary leader when on July 17, 2012 he scolded a Colonel who was driving on a BRT lane.
