Former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen has been unveiled as coach of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars.
Eguavoen has been appointed as coach of the NPFL side to replace interim coach, Kayode Olujohungbe who was sacked after Sunshine Stars’ 3-1 loss to Lobi Stars on Wednesday, April 19.
That defeat in Makurdi was their third loss in five games, leaving them 17th in the NPFL table with 31 points from 18 matches.
Eguavoen was unveiled on Tuesday, April 25 and will be tasked in steering the Akure-based club to NPFL safety.
The 51-year-old will be assisted by his former Super Eagles teammate, Ike Shorunmu.
Eguavoen has managed the likes of Enyimba and Gombe United in the past, winning the Federation Cup in 2009 with Enyimba.
