The much lingering transfer talk concerning Bacary Sagna has finally rested as the French defender has penned a three year deal for Manchester City.

The deal was reported in the media to be around 150,000 thousand pounds per week plus other benefits.

A tweet from Arsenal's twitter handle on June 13, 2014 confirmed the transfer:''@Sagnaofficial has agreed to join Manchester City after his contract with @Arsenal expires http://t.co/LnxfGgfvZs pic.twitter.com/TIiMcXYvme''

Manchester City also confirmed the transaction on their website:

''The 31-year-old full-back will complete his transfer from Arsenal on a three year contract following the World Cup in Brazil, where he is currently on duty with the French squad.

''Sagna will join up with his new team-mates for the first time after the end of the World Cup, when the squad take in their tour to America.

''He will take up the vacant squad number 3, the same number he wore for the Gunners.''

Sagna follows the footsteps of Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor and Bacary Sagna who all left the Emirates for the Etihad.

Bacary Sagna who is currently with the French team, spent seven years under Arsene Wenger, appeared in 172 games with three goals to his credit.
