Aubameyang has netted five of his team's ten league goals, contributing significantly to the newcomer's successful start to the season. After seven rounds, Deportivo La Coruña sits seventh in the La Liga standings with 10 points.

The Gabon national team's all-time leading scorer announced his retirement from international football in early September. Aubameyang stated he felt "humiliated" after the Gabonese government blamed him for the team's unsuccessful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
