Atlético Madrid Monitoring Nicolo Fagioli

Nicolo Fagioli's impressive performances haven't gone unnoticed by Atlético Madrid. The 'Rojiblancos' might make a move for him after the current season, according to journalist Marco Conterio.

With five rounds remaining in Serie A, Fiorentina sits in a modest 15th place. While they appear safe from relegation, the season hasn't been a good one for the 'Viola'. Despite this, some players in the squad continue to attract interest from major European clubs. Nicolo Fagioli is one such case.

The 25-year-old midfielder is a Juventus academy product, but his career with the 'Bianconeri' first team didn't take off. One reason was his involvement in an illegal betting scandal, which led to a multi-month suspension. This scandal ultimately resulted in his transfer to Fiorentina, where he has managed to revive his career, making 62 official appearances, scoring five goals, and providing an equal number of assists.

However, Atlético isn't the only club interested in Fagioli. He is reportedly also being monitored by AC Milan, as well as clubs from the Premier League. Fiorentina knows it will be difficult to retain the player but will demand significantly more than the €13.5 million they invested in him. Fagioli already has seven caps for the Italian national team.
