According to specialized basketball portal Eurohoops, the French club owes around €300,000 to their former player and current Partizan center, Joffrey Lauvergne.

Sanctions were triggered after ASVEL defaulted on two consecutive installments from a previously agreed settlement. As a result, the 35-year-old Lauvergne is taking the club back to the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT), effectively handing ASVEL a transfer ban that prevents them from registering new signings.

The 211-centimeter French big man suited up for ASVEL between 2022 and 2025. Prior to his spell in France, he made 208 appearances in the NBA across stints with the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs. He returned to European basketball's premier competition and to Partizan for a second spell last April, continuing to build on his tally of more than 170 EuroLeague appearances.
