Aston Villa to be Leon Goretzka's New Club

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is set to join Europa League winners Aston Villa, according to journalist Matteo Moretto.

The 31-year-old German international, currently a free agent, has reportedly held talks with the Birmingham club's manager and reached a verbal agreement for his transfer.

Aston Villa plans to conduct Goretzka's medical examination and finalize his contract signing next week.

Goretzka spent eight years at Bayern, making over 327 appearances and scoring 54 goals for the Bavarian giants. During his tenure, he secured seven German championships, three DFB-Pokal titles, and a Champions League trophy. Ultimately, his contract with the Munich club was not renewed.

This summer, Goretzka was linked with moves to Italian powerhouses Juventus and AC Milan, but no agreement was reached. The German midfielder will now have the opportunity to play in the Champions League with his new team, Aston Villa.
