Artur Jorge has weighed in on the controversy between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus, which saw the 41-year-old forward walk out of the Portugal national team training camp halfway through. Speaking cautiously due to not knowing all the facts, the Cruzeiro manager appeared to defend his fellow coach's stance, while stopping short of criticizing the Al Nassr star's actions.

"I think it's a delicate situation to address because we're talking about one of the greatest players in the history of world football. But everything has a limit and an end for everyone. I don't know if this is the end. I don't know the full context. I'm just following the media coverage like everyone else," he began during an appearance on the Charla Podcast, stressing that the coach is the one in charge.

"We understand and know what Cristiano Ronaldo is about—his desire to be in the starting lineup and how he reacts when he's left out. The manager must have strong, clear leadership, and while I don't know what will come of this, it has to be clear who leads and who follows. That is fundamental for things to run smoothly anywhere, including national teams. From my perspective, leadership must be firmly asserted in the work we do," he explained.

"A manager's job is about so much more than just picking the starting eleven. Nowadays, we deal with people management—handling egos, expectations, motivations, and convictions. All of this within a group of men who are all different from one another. We must know how to resolve conflicts, knowing we will never please everyone. The core principle and priority is having the ability to be fair and direct with each individual, ensuring justice is upheld whenever necessary," he concluded.
