The South African Secretary for Defence and Military Veterans, Dr. Sam Gulube, confirmed this in Abuja on Monday, July 18, while answering questions from newsmen after the opening ceremony of the Nigeria-South Africa Defence Industry inaugural seminar.

The repatriation of the money was believed to have stalled due to thorough investigations carried out to determine the source and purpose of the funds.

But Gulube clarified that the “issue had been settled.”

He said South Africa will evolve a legal framework with Nigeria to avert a situation where the Federal Government’s funds for arms are seized in future.
