Armed Forces and Security Agencies Half Marathon Championship gets Emzor boost

Participating officers were drawn from, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Police, Nigerian Army. Giving the event a big boost, Emzor Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical company reinforced the need for health and wellness among security and law enforcement officers.

With a focus on the theme, “Together We Are,” the athletics event covered a distance of 21.5km originating from Dei-Dei Kubwa Express way and ending at the Sports Complex Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Abuja.

According to Mark Redguard, a representative of Emzor Pharma, “As a brand, we are committed to the promise of wellness for all especially armed forces and security men who give a lot for the safety of the citizens. This event is one of the largest gathering of sports men and women among security people in the country. We recognized the need to bring the message of wellness and health to this hardworking men and women.”

The chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Commodore Nuhu Bala said “The aim and objectives of the exercise is to further cement the existing relationship between the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the other security agencies through sports.”

One of the highlights of the event was a special marathon battle among Veteran Officers from agencies such as Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Police and Nigerian Army.

The athletics event climaxed with the winner of the Half Marathon winning a brand new, Toyota Yaris 2018 model while the winner for the Veterans’ Category took home the Hyundai Elentra. There were other mouthwatering prizes and cash for participants.
