Arman Tsarukyan delivered another wild moment in his latest victory at RAF 8, securing yet another win. Before clinching the victory, he attacked Urijah Faber's leg for a takedown and literally threw him off the stage during their grappling exchange.
It was one of the most bizarre moments in recent wrestling history, though such scenes are becoming commonplace when Tsarukyan steps into the RAF arena. This move would have actually ended the match, as he was already leading 8-1 on points early on. Instead, Tsarukyan propelled Faber completely off the stage, with both athletes flying over the commentary team and landing on the floor below. Miraculously, neither Tsarukyan nor Faber sustained injuries, and the match continued.
"No, how could I throw him intentionally? He's a veteran," Tsarukyan commented on the wild moment. "I was just executing my technique and couldn't stop."
After the restart, Tsarukyan wasted no time in securing another takedown. This time, he perfectly flipped Faber for a four-point throw, ending the match with a score of 13-1. The technical fall victory brings Tsarukyan's RAF career record to 3-0, and he's already setting his sights on a top opponent. Following his win, Tsarukyan turned his attention to Colby Covington, who was seated nearby and already had a scheduled bout against Chris Weidman for RAF 9 in May.
"Do you see that guy over there?" Tsarukyan said, pointing to Covington. "He's one of the best wrestlers in the UFC, so I want to prove my wrestling against him and beat him."
Covington then stepped onto the stage, stating he would gladly set aside his fight with Weidman to face Tsarukyan in May.
The clash between Arman Tsarukyan and Urijah Faber became the main event at RAF 8 after an injury forced Henry Cejudo out of the event.
