Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa believes the referees didn't want Manchester United to lose in their 1-1 draw during the Premier League's fifth round.

In their previous match, the 'Red Devils' suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Manchester City. Subsequently, Pro Ref, the organization overseeing professional referees in England, admitted a VAR error in awarding Manchester City striker Erling Haaland's goal.

“Every foul went their way. Every decision was for them. And I knew it. After the City game, I knew United wouldn't be allowed to lose here. We deserved a bit more. We were so close and once again, we had a bit of bad luck. We knew it would be tough against such a big team. We were also aware of what happened last week. We saw how the referees operated throughout the entire match, so it was difficult, and we weren't fortunate,” Arbeloa told Sky Sports.
