Singer talks challenges with the Afro soul genre, her music writing process and more.

She narrates how she started doing music and got signed to Baseline Music through a friend.

On the challenges of her genre, she said “You constantly have to remind everyone that you are talented and can sing, and you have to work ten times harder than every other person, the basic challenge is that you have to prove”.

She describes how she writes her songs, the creative process that goes into it, how long it takes to write the songs and that one particular song that took a very long time to write and perfect.

She lets in on how elated she felt winning the award for Best Female Vocal Performance at the Headies 2015, beating Asa, Yemi Alade, Simi and Waje to it.

The baseline singer talks about balancing family and work, and the ingredient that makes it all work out.

She talks also about how her latest single ‘Love me’ featuring Adekunle Gold came about – the reason why she chose Adekunle, releasing two more singles and working on her album, plus how she relates with other female artistes in the industry.
