Antonelli on the Verge of Shattering Vettel's 2010 Record

Andrea Kimi Antonelli could seal the Formula 1 World Championship as early as this Sunday's United States Grand Prix. If the Italian achieves the feat, he will become the youngest champion in the sport's history, shattering the long-standing record.

The record is currently held by Sebastian Vettel, who captured the title in 2010 at 23 years and 134 days old. By comparison, Antonelli will be 20 years and 61 days old this Sunday, meaning he would eclipse Vettel's mark by more than three years.

In fact, even if Antonelli clinches the crown at the season finale in Abu Dhabi on December 6, he would still be over three years younger than Vettel was. On December 6, the Mercedes driver—born on August 25, 2006—will be 20 years and 103 days old, exactly three years and 31 days younger than the German.
