Amab bookshop to host poet in Minna
One of the foremost Bookstore in Nigeria, Amab Bookshop unveils plans to host Amu Nnadi as he unveils and reads from his newly published poetry collection, a field of echoes. The collection, with over two hundred and thirty (230) poems and about three hundred sixty (300) pages is expected to be the largest single collection of poetry ever published in Africa.
Amu Nnadi is an accomplished poet as he won the 2002 ANA Poetry Prize and 2014 Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry. Nnadi was also the guest at the Centre for Black Literature, Medgar Evers College, New York, where he had a reading in honour of the exhibition of the works of the renowned collector of African artifacts, Eric Edwards.
Nnadi has been praised by critics and poetry enthusiasts as they have noted touching sensitivity and palpable imagery in his poems. His poems have remarkable ability to depict luridly the sophistication of the human experience.
