Americans, What Are You Paying $40 Million For?! Renowned Analyst Shamefully Disrespects Jokic, His MVP List is Pure Audacity!
During ESPN's "First Take" broadcast, Stephen A. Smith unveiled his list of MVP favorites, conspicuously omitting the Denver Nuggets' star.
Smith Accused Doncic of Faking an Injury!
"The MVP race is incredibly tight, with many serious contenders. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Luka Doncic, Jaylen Brown," Smith stated, notably leaving out Jokic.
This isn't the first instance of the analyst overlooking the Serbian ace's performance. The last time Smith ranked Jokic first in his MVP selection was in 2021, when the Denver center secured his first MVP title. Since then, Jokic has not received his vote. Smith, whose annual earnings are approximately $40 million, including $21 million from ESPN as part of a five-year, $105 million contract, frequently shifts his favorites. At one point, he considered Doncic the leading candidate, only to recently place the young San Antonio Spurs center, Wembanyama, at the top of his list following Wembanyama's recent statements.
Nikola Jokic is Having the Best Season of His Career
The inclusion of Gilgeous-Alexander and Brown among the top candidates further confirms that Jokic, despite his historic numbers, is not in Smith's MVP plans for this season. The Serbian center is once again posting incredible statistics, averaging near a triple-double with 27.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists per game, alongside significant defensive contributions. Given his past stances, it's unlikely that the season's conclusion will alter the renowned analyst's opinion, continuing a trend where Jokic remains without his support in the MVP race.
