Americans "stirring the pot": Everyone saw him underestimate his son, and now LeBron and Brown will be Sixers teammates /VIDEO/
Jaylen Brown has been traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, and on Friday, LeBron James announced he would continue his career in Pennsylvania. It didn't take long for American media outlets to recall a past controversy involving the two NBA All-Stars.
Specifically, Yahoo Sports revisited an incident from two years ago when Jaylen Brown attended a Summer League game with his partner, where LeBron James' son, Bronny James, was playing.
Cameras captured a moment where, according to American media, Brown allegedly said:
- I don't think Bronny is pro-ready!
Brown quickly took to social media to try and clarify the situation.
- Playing alongside your son in the NBA – that's commendable, reflecting your greatness and longevity. Bronny has all the tools to succeed, and I can't wait to see how he develops, the 2024 NBA champion wrote at the time.
American media immediately began speculating that Philadelphia might orchestrate a trade to acquire Bronny, but there are currently no such indications. Bronny is under contract with the Lakers, for whom he played 42 games last season, averaging 2.9 points per contest.
